  • Cirque Italia: Witness one-of-a-kind performances at the Cirque Italia, at Brandon Town Center Mall this weekend. The theme of the show is “Aquatic Spectacular” so along with trapezes, tight rope walkers, and contortionists, the show will also feature mermaids, jets of water, and other nautical surprises.   •  MLK Freedom Parade: Plant City’s 36th annual MLK Freedom Parade will be held this Saturday from !:00 to 2:30 pm. The parade will feature plenty of floats, marching bands, and a Corvette motorcade to honor the life and work of Dr. King. The parade will proceed east on MLK Blvd and end at the Dr. Martin Luther King JR. Recreational Complex, where there will be vendors, food, and giveaways until 7:00 pm.

  • MOSI Strikes Back: Become one with The Force at MOSI Strikes Back, a Star Wars-themed workshop for the whole family. Build a Lightsaber, practice Jedi combat, and explore the galaxy at the Saunders Planetarium this Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Tickets for this event are $40 for a team, or $30 if you’re a member, with preregistration to the event required.

  • Sunday Yoga at Curtis Hixon: Looking to de-stress after the holidays? Come to scenic Curtis Hixon Park this Sunday at 5:00 pm and practice some yoga with seasoned instructors from Lucky Cat Yoga and music by Mr. Bongos. The event is free, but a small contribution of $5-$10 is recommended.

Pasco County

  • J.F. Harris at Side Splitters Wesley Chapel: This weekend, see comedian J.F. Harris perform standup at Side Splitters Wesley Chapel. Working with stars like Will Smith, Bill Burr, Joel McHale, and the Impractical Jokers, Harris has developed a signature rapid-fire delivery that is sure to tickle your funnybone.

  • Raising Cane and Moonshine: Explore Florida’s history with sugar cane and moonshine at the Pioneer Florida Museum’s Raising Cane and Moonshine Festival this Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Attendants can learn how folks used to make sugar cane syrup and watch a live demonstration at the museum’s working cane mill. There will also be a moonshine exhibition where people can hear local moonshine stories and taste samples provided by Tarpon Springs Distillery. In addition, there will also be ax throwing, blacksmith demonstrations, model trains, local vendors, and live music.

  • New Wesley Chapel Theater Group: See the inaugural performance of the new Wesley Chapel Theater Group! B & B Theaters (formerly The Grove) will be hosting a night of intriguing live entertainment with the players performing three short plays, some musical numbers, with the event concluding with a meet and greet with the director, actors, and board of the Wesley Chapel Theater Group.

Pinellas County

  •   Feline - An All Cat-Themed Art Show: Attention all cat lovers! The opening night of Feline, an art show exclusively about cats, will be held at the Atelier Industrial Arts Building from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A portion of the sales will benefit the St. Pete Sunshine Kitty Catfe, which helps cats find their “furever” home. The show will continue for six weeks and feature events such as cat-themed movie screenings, cat-inspired painting classes, and a cat art yoga class.

  • Tyler Henry: See one of the world’s biggest mediums perform what is no small feat: reading the audience at the Mahaffey Theater this Friday! Starting at 8:00 that evening, Hollywood clairvoyant Tyler Henry will be sharing about his gift, providing his insights about the afterlife, and doing a live Q&A.

  •  Bubblefest: Bring the whole family to Bubblefest this Saturday at The Bazaar on Apricot & Lime from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. A live two-hour performance by Spheres Bubble Show will be happening at 12:30 pm, which show creator and America’s Got Talent alum Blaise Ryndes describes as a comedic fusion of art, science, and magic. The event will also offer live music, guest vendors, and local artisans.

Polk County

  •  Lakeland Carnival: Experience the classic thrills, games, and foods that the midway has to offer at the Lakeland Carnival all weekend. Lee County

  •  Cape Coral Art Fest: Peruse some beautiful handmade art at the 37th annual Cape Coral Art Festival & Marketplace. In addition to the student art projects and beautiful artisan crafts, there will be local restaurants, nonprofits, and art demos at the event. The Art Fest takes place Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm but there is also a virtual event where you can look at booths and vendors online. A portion of the proceeds from the event is going to benefit the Rotary Club of Cape Coral.
