  • Earth Day Sand Sculpting @ the Don CeSar Hotel: Watch the action as sculptors from Sanding Ovations use 80 tons of sand to create a 25th Earth Day masterpiece on the beach near the hotel. This event is free and takes place Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

  • Independent Bookstore Day @ Tombolo Books: Book lovers can find unique, limited edition books and art pieces that are only available on Independent Bookstore Day and only from participating stores. Also find, limited edition Indie Bookstore Day merchandise, food by Pop Goes the Waffle food truck and a tabletop kids book sale. Masks are required unless guests are seated and eating in the courtyard. This event is free and takes place Saturday from 10 AM to 5:30 PM.

  • Earth Day Scavenger Hunt @ Sunken Gardens: How can flamingos eat without any teeth and what does dancing have to do with it? What power can Sunken Gardens' Growing Stone give you? Find out by exploring the winding paths, exotic birds, turtles, butterflies and flowers on an all-ages, self-guided scavenger hunt this Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM. Prizes include Florida wildflower seeds or seedlings to celebrate Earth Day. No pre-registration required.

Hillsborough County

  • Florida State Fair: This year's fair features rides, food and a midway. This year's entertainment includes Daredevil Daze 2.0, Extreme Illusions, Fireguy, GASCAR Crazy Animal Races, Dark Knights, Criss Cross Flying Trapeze, One Man Band, Hollywood Circus, Mango and Dango, Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, Tour of Destruction Demolition Derby and more. The fair is usually held in February, but was postponed due to COVID-19. Tampa's fair is the first state fair in the country.   • Rehab Jazz Brunch @ Shuffle: On 04/25 The House Cats will be in the Shuffle backyard. The House Cats are an up and coming Jazz Duo bringing authentic bebop and swing to all of Florida in a refreshing and exciting way. With only a guitarist and vocalist, The House Cats bring a big sound, with chord melodies, walking baselines, and inspired improvisation. Travis and Stephanie's genuine chemistry shines through in every performance, and their unique sound brings a huge amount of romance and class. The House Cats play classic Jazz Standards by many of the greatest composers in history, as well as a few of the great song writers of the modern day.
