Hillsborough County

  •  Riverwalk Holiday Hunt: Explore the Tampa Riverwalk in this mobile scavenger game as you compete to solve puzzles, complete festive challenges, and answer some historical Tampa trivia. Participants need their smartphone and the free Mobile Adventures app to play, with the Holiday Hunt available to try throughout the holiday season!

  •  It’s a Wonderful Life: Another classic holiday film will be screening at the Tampa Theater this weekend! This week, the atmospheric theater is showing the classic It’s a Wonderful Life featuring Jimmy Stewart. The Theater’s famous Wurlitzer Organ will be playing holiday favorites to sing along to before the show. Tickets are $10 ($7 for members) with showtimes available here.

  •  Shimmering Lights: Sunkissed Acres’ 4th annual light show, Shimmering Lights, is lighting up Dover this holiday season! Venture down a self-guided walking trail to find a dancing light show, music, movies, a scavenger hunt, and a maze! Tickets cost $7 a person with the event open nightly from the 16th to the 26th, with the trail open from 6:30 to 9:30 pm on weeknights, or until 10:30 on Friday and Saturday.

Pasco County

  • Tampa Bay Balloon Festival: Soar to new heights at the Tampa Bay Balloon Festival this weekend at Little Everglades Ranch in Dade City. This event features tethered hot air balloon rides, bounce houses, and local food and vendors. The Balloon Festival will be here from Friday to Sunday, with the event going from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.

  • New Port Richey Winter Art Show: Enjoy a night of hot cocoa, cookie decorating, and Santa Claus at the Winter Art Show, Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Come see artwork from local Elementary, Middle, and High School students and enjoy the festive vibes at the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center.

  • Roaring 20s Great Gatsby Dinner: Dance the night away, this Saturday from 6:00 to 10:00 pm at this swanky 1920’s themed dinner! Guests are encouraged to wear their best Gatsby and roaring 20s inspired outfits, with a contest for best dressed being held at the end of the night. Dinner and a complimentary glass of champagne are included with each ticket. Tickets cost $65, with the revenue from the event going to benefit the Riley Blair Foundation.

Pinellas County

  • Florida Orchestra Holiday Brass: Hear the enchanting sounds of the Florida Orchestra’s Brass and Percussion sections this Saturday, at the Palladium Theater. Starting at 2:00 pm, hear arrangements of holiday favorites as well as classical pieces in a concert that celebrates the musical traditions of holidays past and the present.   • Snow Glow: Out of this world laser displays and falling snow await at Snow Glow, Saturday at Janus Live in St Pete. Join world-renowned DJ Paul Oakenfold for an immersive electronic holiday concert with a jaw-dropping synchronized light show that starts at 7:00 pm.

  • Kayak Santa Parade: Cruise down the beach in style at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Complex’s Kayak Santa Parade. Come see some festive decorated Kayaks, or bring your own and join in the holiday fun! The parade starts Sunday at 10:30 am, with participants encouraged to bring a toy to drop off for local charities.

  • Holiday Sparkle: The St. Petersburg Opera Company is putting together a special holiday extravaganza this weekend! On Sunday, the music is coming to North Straub Park for a live family-friendly performance at 3:00 pm with singing, instruments, and dancing.

Sarasota/Manatee County

  •  Lights in Bloom: Witness two-million glimmering lights illuminate the scenic Selby Gardens in Downtown Sarasota this weekend! With over 15 acres of botanical wonders and holiday lights, there are sure to be plenty of breathtaking views and photo opportunities. Lights in Bloom will also offer arts and crafts demonstrations for kids, some live entertainment, and a visit with Santa and his elves.

Polk County

  •  Cirque Musica: Experience a circus like no other, with a holiday twist! The Cirque Musica is coming to the RP Funding Center in Lakeland on Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The circus will blend mind-blowing acrobatics, dancing, and stunts with live performances of your favorite holiday songs.

 

Citrus County

  •  Free Movie In the Park: Bring plenty of cozy blankets and comfy chairs to the Homosassa Area Recreation Park this Friday, and curl up with a holiday classic. Starting at 5:45, Citrus County Parks and Recreation will be presenting a free screening of The Muppet Christmas Carol. There will also be a food truck there, and a craft table where kids can create ornaments to take home.

 

Lee County

  •  Holiday House: Visit the historic Langsford-Kingston home this weekend and see a piece of Fort Meyers history come to life! The stately, early 20th century mansion will be decked out in dazzling lights for the 65th annual Holiday House tradition, with guests being able to go on tours of the property, listen to live music, and even visit with Santa. Tickets are $5 and benefit the Fort Meyers Women’s Community Club, with guided tours taking place from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.
